PILATES - MAT PILATES FOR  BEGINNERS (6:30pm Class)


Start your Pilates experience by building a strong foundation in the Pilates method through mat-based exercises. These fundamental exercises will promote excellent core strength, body awareness, flexibility and relaxation. This is a non rehabilitation Pilates class. If you have any back issues or injuries please inform the office before enrolling and the tutor will contact you directly. This course is part of the Accredited Strength and Balance Programme (Live Stronger for Longer) through Sport Canterbury but is unsuitable for students during pregnancy.

TAI CHI - BEGINNER LEVEL

A short course for beginners in Tai Chi and those who would like to refresh in a kind, relaxing environment.  We will concentrate on Yang style, building towards the 8 form. The course also includes elements of Qigong.

YOGA FOR BEGINNERS

Regardless of age or level of fitness, yoga can help improve strength, balance, flexibility and calmness of mind.  A regular yoga practice helps to create more balance and harmony in our lives.  This class is suitable for anyone particularly those who want to experience a slower more  mindful yoga practice.  This class incorporates yoga breathing techniques, yoga movement and relaxation.  Students are encouraged at all times to move at their own pace.  The class is  not suitable for students who are pregnant.  It is recommended that participants are able to sit on the floor and can easily get down/up from the floor.
