Tuition Fees

One Term of fees $5,000 (inclusive of the $500 Administrative fee)
Two Terms of fees $9,500 (inclusive of the $500 Administrative fee)
Three Terms of fees $13,750 (inclusive of the $500 Administrative fee)
Four Terms of fees $17,750 (inclusive of the $500 Administrative fee)

2024-2025 Short-stay Tuition Fees (less than one term)
$600 per week + a one-off Administration fee of $500
This covers all normal school tuition, and textbooks (on 
loan)

Additional Costs

Once their subject choices are confirmed and they are attending class, students may need to pay additional costs for items needed in certain subjects. These costs will depend on the individual programme chosen by the student and are not covered by the standard tuition fee. The cost shown here is a guide only .

  • Art, Food & Nutrition (between $50 and $250)
  • Outdoor Education (fee for one term is $200, $800 for one year)
  • Stationery (about $50 per year)
  • Non-programmable scientific calculator for Mathematics, Physics etc. (approx. $20 to hire)
  • Trips out of school (approx. $5 - $75)
  • Music camp (approx. $160 for the weekend, approx. $385 if competing at Jazz Festival)
  • Sports fees ($40 – $50), if traveling away in tournament week (e.g., $330), Adventure Club ($5-$50)
  • Students wishing to sit for the National Certificate of Educational Achievement ( NCEA ) will need to pay entry fees for external examinations and awards.
    • Students will need to discuss with our staff that they want to obtain NCEA qualifications.
    • Payment of the International Student NCEA entry fee is a flat rate of $383.30* per year for all levels of NCEA (Levels 1, 2 and 3) * 2024 fee inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax)
    • The full NCEA fee applies if students arrive partway through the New Zealand school year and want to achieve NCEA credits in that part year.
    • NCEA credits achieved in one calendar year apply only to that calendar year’s achievements.

Student Transcript fee - $25 per transcript
To cover the cost of student transcript presentation, additional to normal school processes.

Homestay Accommodation Fees

This fee is the same for short-term or long-term students and includes 3 meals a day and laundry of clothes.

  • Homestay fee from 1 January 2024 - 31 December 2024 $310 per week
  • Homestay fee from 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2025 $340 per week

Homestay Management fee of $100 per term (non-refundable) to cover administrative costs of providing a homestay service.

Early morning airport transfer fee - $50.00 paid to Homestay families that will be taking their student to Christchurch International Airport before 06:00 am to catch early flights.

Accommodation – Summer Holding fee - $250 paid to a host family to hold student’s items and room for them when the student goes home for the New Zealand Summer break.

Uniform

Year 9 – 12 students Approximately $800 new or $400 second-hand
Year 13 students 
no uniform (suitable, tidy casual clothes)International Students may not wear their own school uniform, but short-term students can hire a uniform from us at a cost (non-returnable).
They must supply their own socks (plain black or plain white) and shoes (black leather).

  • Uniform hire fee from 1 January 2024 - 31 December 2024 $200
  • Uniform hire fee from 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2026 $300
Insurance

International students must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance to meet Code of Practice and Immigration requirements while in New Zealand. Uni-Care Travel and Medical Insurance may be arranged through our school, or you can arrange your own insurance.

As a guide , the cost for a full academic year with Uni-Care is approximately $600.83 (for a whole year in 2024), but this amount is beyond our control and may change.

Immigration New Zealand Visa Processing fee - $200 to cover the time and resources to generate a student visa for a student extending their enrolment. This fee does not include the payment for the visa document.

Immigration New Zealand Student visa fee is the cost of the visa document received by the student and is set by Immigration New Zealand.

The student visa fee for 2024 is $410.00 (inc GST), from 01/10/2024 the student visa application fee will be $785.00.
