A History of Ukraine - Who's Invading Us Now?

Ukraine has been inhabited since at least 32,000 BC but only appeared as a full nation state last century. Ukraine's history is deeply intermingled with its neighbours and the greater Slavic nation yet it has distinct, complex history with each of them. Starting with the origins of the various native peoples, we will move through Ukraine's social and economic development, before ending with a discussion of the 20th and 21st century alliances, and conflicts right up to the ongoing war. We will consider Ukraine’s place in ancient history, and it’s influence over ancient and medieval cultures. We will also consider various modern historical claims being made, as well as events that continue to shape modern conflicts.
