John Foster

John became a full-time professional photographer/educator in 1996, opening an inner-city studio.  A qualified Master of Photography and has won many awards and accolades.  Clientele ranges from the NZ Governement and national personalities to the All Blacks, and his images have been magazine covers, billboards, and posters.  John also  co-organised various seminars and national photo competitions and regularly judges competitions.  He was chairman of the NZ Institute of Professional Photography, Canterbury and Westland Branch for five years.  His expertise is in people photography, and he now specialises in travel, landscape and artchitectural photography.  John tutored at the University of Canterbury from 1995-2004.  In 2015 John started a private photography school, specialising in small group classes, photo tours and private tuition.
