Any Pasifika Students who are keen to take part in the UCMeXL October Holiday Programme need to either let Ms McLean or Ms Archer know so they can be registered. The programme provides free academic tutoring, workshops, transport to and from PHS, meals, and learning resources to Pasifika Students. The programme is held for 3 days during the term 3 holidays. The details for the October programme are as follows:

Date: Tuesday 2nd - Thursday 4th October
Time: 10am – 4pm

Hottest Home Baker is tomorrow. Bring all baking the the student office before 8.30 tomorrow. Baking will be judged at form time and interval and winners announced at lunchtime. At lunchtime you can buy some yummy baking and take in some awesome sounds in the quad. Over $100 worth of prizes are to be had.

All those keen on playing for the mighty Papanui HS in a Baseball tournament in Term 4, Juniors and Seniors, come to a meeting in J2 at Interval TODAY.

Ever wonder what living in a different country is like? Ask no further! Every Thursday lunchtime in P1 the World Culture club organises cultural related activities. This is a chance for you to meet many people from different backgrounds. This Thursday there will be a quiz to test your knowledge on different countries and cultures. Prizes will be awarded to teams who win. Come with your friends in teams of 4 - 6 and if you come by yourself we will help you find a group.

Year 12 students are invited to express interest in Peer Support for 2019 on Monday and Tuesday of Week 10 outside M block at lunch time. Please come to write your name down to receive an application form. If you are absent both days, please email Wrl to express interest.

General Notices

TRIAL of AUDIO BOOKS from the school library until SEPTEMBER 30th.
How to access audio books: exactly the same as for e-books using the Wheelers platform. NB: these instructions are for your phone or tablet. Borrowing an e-book/audio book is easy.
1. Search for and download the ePlatform app from your App Store.
2. Find Papanui High School.
3. Log in using your school login and password.
4. Click “Start Browsing”, then ‘Format’. Select “EPUB” for e-books or “MP3” for audio books, then “Apply”. Audio book files will display a speaker symbol.
5. Follow the remaining instructions as given.
Please try them and let the library staff know what you think. Any questions please see Ms Bennett in the library.
The library will be closed after school from 2.30pm on Thursday 27th September for staff professional development off site.
The programme for Friday is as follows:
Normal school timetable periods 1 - 4.
Extended lunch from 12.25 - 1.25pm for Carnival Day
Period 5 from 1.30 - 2.00pm
Form time & clean up from 2.00 - 2.15pm approx
School finishes at 2.15pm approx when the final bell goes.
Make sure you tidy up your locker and remove any rubbish before you leave. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
The nominations for the Student BOT representative for 2019 are: Laura Canton, Travis Griffin, Courtney Law-Mitchell, Polly Moffit and Zoe Helleur (all Y12).
These students will be speaking at the combined assemblies on Thursday & voting will take place at Thursday lunchtime and after school on Thursday till 3pm in the Student Office foyer area.
Y12 students who will be away on the Y12 PE camp & Y11/12 students away on the Japan trip may vote on Tuesday lunchtime in the Student Office foyer area, as they will not be here to vote on Thursday.
Confirmed lists of summer sports teams/ options are now listed on the Sports Noticeboard. If you have been named on a list please collect a permission form and return by Friday ( including in house volleyball)

Rock Climbing Session on today afterschool at Papanui Youth Development Trust - please meet out by the carving in the front carpark to walk down by 2:40pm. Remember 1st session is FREE and if you bring a friend you will win chocolate.
All year 10 outdoor education students who would like to participate in the Ropes course and adventure based learning day in the first week of next term need to return permission slips to the student office or their OE teacher by Friday this week. please see Mr Washbourn in the HPE office for and queries or concerns.
