Kia ora,

As the term comes to a close I would like to acknowledge and thank our wider community for your support and understanding in what has been another challenging term.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  It has been a full term in which we have been able to do the greater majority of our curricular and co-curricular programmes.

Continuity is proving to be one of the biggest challenges through an ongoing cycle of absence of both staff and students.  I appreciate this is difficult for all parties.  I am very grateful to our entire staff, inclusive of our relieving teachers, who have been committed to doing their best to help and support our students to achieve. I would like to thank them for their incredibly hard work during this past term.

Equally I would like to acknowledge our students for what they have made of this term.  They too, have been meeting a wide range of challenges, and have been doing their best to move forward.

As an example of the wider engagement that our students have been able to involve themselves in, this week fifteen members of the Year 12 Development Leadership team attended the Emerging Leaders Conference at Christ’s College.  A number of students have written about their day and this article can be found on the next page.

We are positive looking forward to hosting some key events in the first five weeks of next term.  These include:

· Academic Counselling Conference Day - Thursday 11th August

· Senior Course Selection Evening - Thursday 18th August

· Accord Day - Monday 22nd August

Junior Year 9 and 10 reports will be posted on the Portal today.  You will be informed via email when they are available, those without emails will have their reports posted to them.

COVID Update

As a school we will maintain a watching brief over the holiday period as unfortunately we are seeing a new rise in community COVID cases, and we are unsure how this will impact on Term 3.  If there is a need to adjust from our normal learning programme we will advise you as soon as possible.

Once again, we thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.  If your student or someone in your household has COVID please let us know by emailing [email protected]

The school holidays bring an opportunity for both staff and students to take a rest, and hopefully the weather will allow an opportunity to get out and do some outside activities.

Ngā mihi nui
