During the week we had the opportunity to visit three of our contributing schools prior to next week’s Open Night on Wednesday 17th. We visited Belfast, Breens, and Casebrook. Our Year 9 and 13 ambassadors thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to return to their previous schools and share their perspective of what Papanui High School has to offer, answered questions, and strongly encouraged those who are seeking co-educational learning, that Papanui High School is the place to be.
Next Wednesday evening is our ‘Open Night’ where we welcome prospective parents/caregivers and students to view our wonderful facilities, and see the school ‘in action’. We look forward to hosting all visitors, and thank the hundreds of students who will be supporting this as guides and subject helpers. A reminder that the school will finish at 1.45 on Wednesday 17th May to allow staff and students to prepare for the Open Night.
On Thursday night (11th May) we held our Senior Parent/Teacher evening for our Year 11, 12, and 13 students. There was a great turn out, and I would like to sincerely thank our parents, whānau, caregivers, and students who were able to attend. Evenings like this form part of our on-going commitment to providing information and opportunities to gain a greater understanding of the progress your child is making, by talking with their subject teachers. I would also like to thank and acknowledge members of the PTA for providing light refreshments on the night.
OPEN EVENING – WEDNESDAY 17th MAY
On Wednesday 17th May we are holding our Open Evening starting at 6.30pm. This involves all staff and significant numbers of students. To allow the staff and students time for preparation, school will finish on Wednesday at the end of Period 5, 1.45pm.
