Junior Speech Competition
The English Department would like to extend a warm welcome to parents, students, friends and whānau to join us on Tuesday 21st August for the annual Junior Speech Competition.
Six talented Year 9 and 10 students will present their speeches on a range of challenging, thought provoking and humorous topics. The students will compete for the Year 9 and 10 speaking trophies.
Our special guest adjudicators will be Denis Pyatt and Katie Mills. Denis was Principal of Papanui High School for several years, and is now a coach-mentor with Core Education. Katie is an ex-pupil whose winning speech on The Role of Women in World War One saw her travel to Gallipoli in 2015 as part of U.N. Gallipoli centenary celebrations. She is now studying Law at Canterbury University.
Where: B3 (the ground floor of the English Department)
When: Tuesday 21 August. Light refreshments will be served from 6.00pm. Speeches begin at 6.30pm
