As signalled in the newsletter on Friday, we have been very fortunate to have had 7 weeks of full instruction at Papanui High School which has included a number of big co-curricular events and a full winter sports and Arts programme.

COVID has had an ongoing impact on staff and students this term. The additional effect of influenza, and other winter illnesses has reached a point whereby we need to employ extra strategies to support teaching and learning to continue as best we can.

With this in mind, we wish to advise that we will be Rostering Home a year level a day starting on Wednesday June 22. On their rostered home day students are expected to continue on with their school work, whether it be online or on paper which teachers will have already discussed with the class.  This work will be able to be completed independently without teacher input.  There will be no Google meetings or real time work happening in the online space.

The purpose of the rostering home is to allow staff and students to focus on their well-being and to ensure that we have enough staff to cater for the varied activities that we will continue to offer. A reminder that if your child is sick the primary focus is on recovery at home.

Limited supervision can be provided at school for students who are unable to be looked after at home.  If your student needs to come to school on their rostered day off, please email [email protected]

Please note the change of days for Year 10. This week Year 10 will be rostered home on Wednesday and a move to Tuesdays for weeks 9-10.

We thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.  If your student or someone in your household has Covid please let us know by emailing [email protected]
