Principal's Weekly Review 7 May 2021

Kia ora,

Welcome to Term 2, and to our first newsletter following the holidays.  The students were treated to some very good weather, so hopefully they have had a restful break, and are returning recharged and focused on the term ahead.

I have started the process of visiting our contributing schools by going to see the Year 8 students at Breens Intermediate.  Accompanying me are student leader representatives from both Year 9 and Year 13, who have been past students of the school.  Next week we visit Casebrook and Belfast, and our last visit will be to Heaton.  This is part of our preparation for Open Night on Tuesday 25th May.  The feedback is extremely positive, and the students are wonderful ambassadors for our school.

A reminder of some key events happening in the first 5 weeks of Term 2:

· Senior Parent/Teacher Evening - Tuesday 11th May, 6.00pm - 9.00pm

· PPTA Accord Day - Thursday 13th May (school closed for instruction)

· Open Evening on Tuesday 25th May from 6.30pm.

· Staff Only Day - Friday 4th June

· Queen’s Birthday - Monday 7th June

I would like to remind parents and caregivers of the upcoming Senior Parent-Teacher evening for our Year 11, 12, and 13 students on Tuesday 11th May from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.  Information on how to book appointments for the evening with your student’s subject teachers was sent out at the end of last term. We look forward to seeing you there.

Please note there will be no junior reports next week as the school is changing over its student management system. The first junior engagement reports for Term 2 will be sent out in Week 4.

 Ngā mihi nui
