Principal's Weekly Review 5th March 2021

Kia ora,

This week, once again we have had to return to Alert Level 2 safety protocols in our school setting.  As in the past I have greatly appreciated your support and understanding as we negotiate these challenging times. Unfortunately this has also necessitated the postponement of our Academic Assemblies celebration of NCEA Endorsement awards.  We will be looking to reschedule this at a later date.  Most other school activities have been able to carry on as they can be managed under the Alert Level 2 requirements.

On Monday 15th of March the PTA  Annual General Meeting, including the election of the Executive Committee will take place.  The meeting will be held at 7.00pm in the Papanui High School staff room, and new members are most welcome.

I am sure we all looking forward to the Prime Minister’s announcement in relation to a positive potential change in Alert Level status.  Next week we have a number of activities taking place including our International Week with activities including lunchtime performances, and the popular food fair (which will require a move to Alert Level 1).

As a school we are mindful of the challenges that school communities have been facing in the Auckland region.  A downgrade in Alert Levels will allow staff and students to return to their normal learning environment and settle back into routines.  We hope this is the case on Monday.

Ngā mihi nui
