Principal's Weekly Review 30th August 2019

Kia Ora,

On Tuesday we held our Year 10 to Year 11 Course Selection evening, I would like to thank all the parents and caregivers who attended.

As you will read in this edition, there have been a wide variety of interesting student activities happening on our school campus, and in the community this week.  This typifies the kinds of opportunities available for our students for learning outside of the classroom.

Friday is the last night of the Infinite Dance Showcase in the hall.  It is a hugely popular, and successful event.  We will have a full report in next week’s edition.

Next week many of our students will be playing in their respective Winter Sports tournaments.  We thave teams competing as follows:  Boys’ Football in Blenheim, Girls’ Football in Timaru, Boys’ Hockey in Ashburton, Girls’ Hockey in Cromwell, Girls’ Netball in Nelson, Senior Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball in Nelson, and Junior Girls’ Basketball in Dunedin.  We wish them safe travel and a wonderful time as they compete against other schools from around New Zealand.

On Thursday 5th September the school will be holding a full school fire drill exercise at 12.00 noon.  Our student body will be informed prior to this event.  The exercise should finish by the start of lunchtime.  The drill will measure how robust our Health and Safety procedures are.
