Principal's Weekly Review 26 March 2021
Kia ora,
This week was Summer Tournament Week, where our girls’ Futsal team travelled to Wellington, and the girls’ Volleyball ball team to Palmerston North. The feedback has been very positive, and our students have been representing the school with pride. I would like to thank the staff and parents who have been coaching and supporting them. A wrap-up of the results can be found on the Sports page.
On Friday, form teachers had Academic Counselling interviews with the students from their form class. The focus for senior students through their interviews, was to discuss their progress to date. This included identifying their learning aspirations, potential future pathways, self management, and other ways in which they could be supported. The junior school explored who they were as learners, what their learning aspirations were and the key indicators of a successful 2021. This was supported by an “Attitude” presentation that touched on topics such as making good choices, resilience and online safety. This process is part of the ongoing support for students, and builds into Conference Day in Term 3, where there will be an opportunity to further discuss students progress with the support of family/whānau.
