Principal's Weekly Review 26 June 2020
This has been a very sad week, which saw a number of staff and students attend the funeral for one of our Year 11 students who sadly passed away the previous week. We share our deepest sympathy with whānau, family, friends, and our school community.
With only one week to go before the end of term, our students continue to be very busy both in and out of the classroom. This week a large group of Year 12 students have been involved in a mountain bike camping experience at Hanmer Springs.
During the week we had our last combined assemblies for the term. These assemblies give us an opportunity to celebrate some of the successes our students have achieved, and to pass on important school wide information. We also reflected on the importance of routines, focussing on learning, and prioritising all the opportunities that school brings.
On Friday students held a non-uniform day to raise funds for Qtopia and World Vision.
This will be my last newsletter for a little while. It looks like my age and past sporting endeavours have caught up with me, and I would like to share with you that next Tuesday I will be away for a full hip replacement. I am hopeful of returning sometime around Week 4 next term. In my absence our Associate Principal Jo Hunnikin will be Acting Principal.
He waka eke noa – We are all in this together.
