Principal's Weekly Review 24 September 2021

Kia ora,

Last Monday’s 4.00pm Prime Minister’s announcement that we would not be dropping Alert Levels for at least a further two weeks was a little disappointing but not unsurprising.  It did however, enable us to ’lock in’ and ‘tweak’ some of our events for the last two weeks of this term.  This included being able to invite a small number of our community to the Junior Speech Finals (held Thursday evening), and a number of Year 13 parents to the Infinite Dance Showcase on Friday evening.

Next week, we will hold our final combined assemblies for the term on Tuesday, which will be held via a Zoom link to form classes.  The annual end of term Extravaganza Week will continue as planned, apart from Carnival Day on Friday, which will be a modified version, and minus any external providers.

You may be aware that we had a significant internet outage on Wednesday and Thursday.  The ‘fault’ that occurred was unexpected and beyond our control.  The replacement part required is only accessible from Auckland, and this unfortunately has taken more time than expected to get here.  Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused, and thank you for your understanding.

Sunday morning brings a change with daylight saving commencing.  This might make Monday morning a bit more challenging.

Ka pai tō rā whakatā  (Have a good weekend)

Ngā mihi nui

Jeff Smith

Principal
