Principal's Weekly Review 18 June 2021

Kia ora,

This week our Diversity council ran PRIDE week where we acknowledged and celebrated with our rainbow community. Students were invited to wear rainbow accessories to show support for this event. The Diversity Council organised rainbow-themed events each lunchtime.

Forty-five students and the team of Music teachers took part in a slightly different Band Camp this year which included a tour, and performances at Hanmer Springs, Waiau, and Kaikōura.  I thank and acknowledge all involved.

Rehearsals have been in full swing for this year’s production of ‘Grease’. Ticket sales have exceeded our expectations and the production is sold out for all performances !!!

Tonight, approximately 435 students and 56 members of staff will be enjoying this year’s senior formal at the Air Force Museum at Wigram.  I would like to thank Mr Joe Holland, and Mrs Kerren  Langdon, our Year 13 and 12 Deans respectively, as well as the student-led Formal Organising Committee for all of their effort and time they have put into organising this event.

The year is going incredibly fast!  We are already well into winter, and next week, on Monday 21st June sees the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.  I would like to remind parents and caregivers that if you need assistance with items of winter uniform for your child, please contact Miss McConnel, our Assistant Principal email:  [email protected]

Ngā mihi nui
