Principal's weekly update- 18 May 2018.

During the week we had an opportunity to complete our visits our contributing schools.  Having visited Breens Intermediate the week previous, this week we concluded the process, by visiting Casebrook, Belfast, and Heaton.  Our Year 9 and 13 ambassadors thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to return to their previous schools and share their perspective of what Papanui High School has to offer, answered questions, and strongly encouraged those who are seeking co-educational learning, that Papanui High School is the place to be.

Next Tuesday evening is our ‘Open Night’, where we welcome prospective parents and students to view our wonderful facilities, and see the school ‘in action’.  We look forward to hosting all visitors, and thank the hundreds of students who will be helping as guides and subject helpers.  A reminder that school will finish at 1.45pm on Tuesday 22nd May to allow staff and students to prepare for the Open Night.

On Friday the school participated in the national – ‘Speak up, and stand together to stop bullying’ awareness day. Our school and society must be a place where all people feel safe, valued, and respected.  It was great to see so many students and staff wearing pink, and showing their support.

On Wednesday I will travel, with our International Student Director, on a two week Marketing trip to Thailand.  We will be visiting families, agents, and schools.   In my absence Mr Vannoort will be Acting Principal.
