Mathematics

All students study mathematics for at least three years and will develop their investigative, problem solving and mathematical communication skills.

In Year 9 and Year 10 Mathematics is a core subject, for five periods per week. At the end of the year 10 most students will sit our Senior Entrance Exam to determine which course is most appropriate for them at Year 11 and measure how well they have mastered Year 9 and Year 10 mathematics. A letter will go home notifying parents of the level of achievement.

Our mathematics department offers an excellent range of courses at senior level, giving students the opportunity to follow a number of pathways in gaining National Qualifications. We aim to provide all students with the essential mathematical skills and qualifications for their future tertiary training and/or positions in the workplace.

Remedial and extension programmes are available.
