Commerce

Welcome to the Commerce Department! We offer a range of subjects; Accounting, Business Studies, Economics and Digital Technologies. We also have two websites which include a lot more information and content for the courses. Please click on the links below to see either website

Commerce looks at how to best use our money and other resources in a range of situations. In Year 9 and 10 the focus is on personal financial wellbeing for the individual consumer. At the junior school students will gain the skills needed to gain credits in senior NCEA commerce subjects. In the senior school the focus shifts to larger groups including businesses and the wider economy. Students will learn to run a business, account for revenue and expenses as well as gain an understanding of how businesses and consumers interact in the NZ economy. A course in commerce will prepare the student for further study at university and a career in the business world and leads to a huge range of exciting job opportunities.
