This class would be ideal for the student that would like to expand their knowledge and explore different forms of mediums through to the novice that has little or no prior knowledge or experience of Art. Learn the differences between acrylic paints and mediums such as paints, gels, pastes, grounds and additives, explore colour and colour mixing.

CREATE A LUXE SCARF - Vacancies

Put the rule books on the shelf and do a bit of creative knitting or crochet.  Students will learn how to combine different texture and colours into a fun scarf, even if the tension does not match.  You will be hooked and look at your stash of single balls with new enthusiasm.  You can bring your own yarn 2- 3 balls, and they do not need to match in gauge, but work together nicely in colour OR you can choose 2 or 3 balls of luxury yarn from our Luxe Box for a fee of $30.  You must know how to cast on, knit and purl, or if you prefer to crochet, you should know how to chain and double crochet or treble.

CREATIVE SOY CANDLE MAKING - Vacancies

Learn to create your own soy container candles and melts, either for yourself or ideal as a gift.  Discover more about soy wax, fragrance, wick selection and trouble shooting common candle making issues.  This is a hands on course where you will make 3 full sized scented candles, 6 melts, 5 tea lights and 1 votive.  The cost of all materials is included in the course fee

Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet?  Come along and join this fun class where you will learn the basic crochet techniques of chain, double crochet, treble and tieing off.  Students will do some practice crocheting, which can be turned into an object of their choice they will also learn to make a beanie and a granny square - which is the basic square for many blanket designs.  Course fee includes materials - 3 balls of quality yarn, 1 Knit Pro Crochet hook, Professional pattern,  Needle for sewing seams, discount voucher for Handzon

In this class students will learn the basics of stripping, sanding and repolishing their own items of furniture.  This is a hands on course and students need to bring an item of furniture eg chair, coffee table, nest of tables or tea wagon to work on.  Fee includes the cost of materials.

MOSAICS - CREATE YOUR OWN MASTERPIECE BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED - Still Vacancies



Are you a Magpie that likes collecting treasurers, such as beautfiul old china, coloured glass, mirror, stone, beads, coins and much more. A combination of these items can be turned into a Mosaic masterpiece made by yourself. Come along to this fun class and learn how to Mosaic. No experience is required, just a desire to learn this craft.  You will learn where to get/source goods from especially upcycling and repurposing.  Everyone in the class is working on their own project.

PAVERPOL SCULPTURE - MASK ON CANVAS Still Vacancies

Paverpol is an environment friendly fluid used to make fabric rock hard.  Its original colour is white, but it will dry as transparent in a few hours.  Paverpol artwork is weather resistant after hardening completely.  It will withstand rain, wind, sun, snow and frost.  Hands and tools can simply be washed in warm water.  Just dip natural materials such as textiles in Paverpol.  Drape or wrap the material around a wire figure or other armature and leave it to dry.  

Paverpol dries fast, but slowly enough to allow plenty of working time.  After it has hardened, you have created a beautiful decoration or sculpture which can be used indoors as well as outdoors,  It sticks very well with paper, silk, chamois leather, self-hardening clay, polystyrene foam, dried flowers, wood, plaster, pottery etc except plastic.  In this course you will make a mask on canvas.

Students will be taught how to construct a basic wire frame for a sitting lady.  From that frame, they will be taught how to build up the frame with tin foil and later how to use materials to dip into Paverpol (Fabric Hardener) and wrap their sculpture.  Lasty they will learn how to dress the sitting lady or some students may wish to make a sitting boy.  All materials will be provided and are included in the course fee.

QUILLING - Course Cancelled Term 2

The art of quilling or coiling paper is a craft which involves the manipulation of paper strips to form a variety of shapes and patterns.  Many effects can be created to produce a truly mesmerizing final piece.  Quilling is a very relaxing pastime but you will need to have patience,  there are many different designs you can do in quilling such as flowers, animals monograms etc.  In this beginners class you will learn how to make a card.
