FURNITURE POLISHING AND RESTORATION  

In this class students will learn the basics of stripping, sanding and repolishing their own items of furniture.  This is a hands on course and students need to bring an item of furniture eg chair, coffee table, nest of tables or tea wagon to work on.  Fee includes the cost of materials.

OIL PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS 

This is an introductory course to painting with oils.  The tutor will teach basic technical information about oil painting, mediums, grounds, brushes and other materials.  The course will cover colour mixing, tonal values and basic composition.  The goal of the course is to make students confident enough to create their own oil painting project/s

PORTRAIT DRAWING 

This is a drawing course that focuses on learning how to create a realistic portrait of a person.  The topics in this course include the basic study of the human head and its features, how to measure, correct proportion, tonal values and likeness.  The skill that will be learned from this course could be used for drawing a portrait from a reference photo or from life.

This course is designed for those people who are beginners in the field of woodwork. The class will begin by making a common project eg Tea Tray. From there after gaining skills from the above projects you can move on to make a project of your choice provided it is within the range of your capabilities. Additional project costs involved.

This class gives people the opportunity to develop skills and friendships as they work on their own project. No recycled timber to be used. Wood turning also available. Help with problems is given by the tutor.  Woodturning is also available.
