Learn the differences between acrylic paints and mediums such as paints, gels, pastes, grounds and additives, explore colour and colour mixing.

CREATIVE SOY CANDLE MAKING - STILL VACANCIES

Learn to create your own soy container candles and melts, either for yourself or ideal as a gift.  Discover more about soy wax, fragrance, wick selection and trouble shooting common candle making issues.  This is a hands on course where you will make 3 full sized scented candles, 6 melts, 5 tea lights and 1 votive.  The cost of all materials is included in the course fee

LEARN TO QUILT - STILL VACANCIES

Learn the basic techniques of quiltmaking by sewing a cot size quilt or table runner with pre-cut squares.  You will learn basic piecing techniques, calculating borders, sandwiching, quilting and binding.  You will work with pre-cut fabrics so you can try your hand at this amazing craft without investing in all the tools.

Are you a Magpie that likes collecting treasurers, such as beautfiul old china, coloured glass, mirror, stone, beads, coins and much more. A combination of these items can be turned into a Mosaic masterpiece made by yourself. Come along to this fun class and learn how to Mosaic. No experience is required, just a desire to learn this craft.  You will learn where to get/source goods from especially upcycling and repurposing.  Everyone in the class is working on their own project.

PAVERPOL SCULPTURE - MASK ON CANVAS - COURSE CANCELLED

Paverpol is an environment friendly fluid used to make fabric rock hard.  Its original colour is white, but it will dry as transparent in a few hours.  Paverpol artwork is weather resistant after hardening completely.  It will withstand rain, wind, sun, snow and frost.  Hands and tools can simply be washed in warm water.  Just dip natural materials such as textiles in Paverpol.  Drape or wrap the material around a wire figure or other armature and leave it to dry.  

Paverpol dries fast, but slowly enough to allow plenty of working time.  After it has hardened, you have created a beautiful decoration or sculpture which can be used indoors as well as outdoors,  It sticks very well with paper, silk, chamois leather, self-hardening clay, polystyrene foam, dried flowers, wood, plaster, pottery etc exceot plastic.  In this course you will make a mask on canvas.

Students will be taught how to construct a basic wire frame for a sitting lady.  From that frame, they will be taught how to build up the frame with tin foil and later how to use materials to dip into Paverpol (Fabric Hardener) and wrap their sculpture.  Lasty they will learn how to dress the sitting lady or some students may wish to make a sitting boy.  All materials will be provided and are included in the course fee.
