Chamber Music Competition 2018
This year’s Chamber Music competition saw seven PHS students performing across three groups. Olivia Shakespeare played for Burnside High School, Betty Shin & Jessie Dalton played for the CSM.
Our own group, Quartette Triste, a saxophone Quartette comprising of Genevieve Eaton, Mathijs Rijnberg, Izzy Orr and Yuna Nishikawa played to a rapt audience. Their performance was dynamic and beautifully timed. The standard at the Chamber Music competition is extremely high and we can all feel very proud of their efforts this year. Quartette Triste was awarded the KBB Music Award in recognition of the strength and vivacity of their playing.
Playing at the competition is developing into a yearly tradition and this is largely the result of the time, effort and encouragement Ms Georgina Rees-Stevenson has given to this genre, and her continued involvement in promoting Chamber Music within our school.
