At Papanui High we believe that on-going education is an essential part of life, whether it is learning new job skills or crafts, developing social or parenting skills or learning for qualifications.

Papanui High School Adult and Community Education offers a pleasant supportive learning environment in a friendly social setting.

General Notices

Every year the school produces a magazine called 'The Review' which showcases and documents what has happened during the year. This year we are running a number of competitions.
There are 5 categories; junior poetry, junior prose, senior poetry, senior prose, and to design the 2017 Review cover.

If you are interested in entering any of the competitions email with the subject Review Competitions to get more info and entry folder.

All entries due Term 3 week 8 Thursday 14 September.
There is a mufti day this Thursday- pink accessories suggested but not compulsory. Please make sure you bring your $2 on Thursday and hand it in during form time. Lollipops will be delivered Thursday too.
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the junior speech semi finals. The speeches were impressive and we enjoyed listening to them. Congratulations to the following students who have been selected for the finals:
Year 9 Harry Stevenson, Sade Kaminski, Theo Henderson and Thomas Clarke
Year 10 Hannah Lemon, Betty Shin, Thomas Blakie and Kiera Fitzgerald.

The finals will be held in B3 on Tuesday 22nd August.
Remember to bring your $2 this Thursday to help raise funds for Canteen. Cool prizes for best dressed. Come to the Quad at the start of lunch for judging and prizes
Basketball Finals will still go ahead this Friday even with it being Mid- Term Break so please make sure you are aware of your teams draw when it becomes available.
Interested in participating in an Orienteering event please see Kirsten in the Sports Office for more information.
Junior week - sport activities at the lunch in the gc. Come and release some energy with a range of fun games
Defence Careers are running a defence Careers experience holiday programme in October. This is a 5 day residential experience held at Burnham Military Camp for students that are interested in a career in the Navy, Army or Air Force. This will be held 1 -5 October . For more info on how to register please see Mrs Gordon in Careers. Be quick as registrations close on 24th August.

FIRST AID: The last First Aid Course is being run next week MONDAY/ TUESDAY. 21, 22nd August. Can you remind your students if they are doing this to be there on time, they dont have to wear school Uniform. CHC22S & Stb INT22P are in the Whare KAi. and all others are in D2. 8.30 am - 2.00pm. I will send student names out to all staff. Any problems see Mrs Gordon in Careers

Reminder: Senior course selection for year 11 and 12 students must be done by Thursday evening this week. If you need advice speak to your academic counsellor, teachers or the careers staff asap.
